FACULTY OF ART

Those who wish to take one or several subjects available for undergraduates may be permitted in accordance with this guide, providing there is no obstacle to their acceptance.

1. Applicant's qualifications

(1) Applicants should be recognized as having attained to the level of achievement superior or equal to a senior high school graduate.
(2) Daily conversation ability in Japanese is required. (Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or above)
(3) Applicants must presently reside in Japan as ‘registered foreigner’ with the intention of continuing their education or study and have proper visa qualification as ‘foreign student’ according to the immigration control and refugee recognition act of Japan, or have the requirements needed to apply for such status.
2. Subjects available
  Students can take a maximum of 20 credits (refer to the back) in a year (two semesters). Students must attend classes equivalent to approximately 300 hours in one academic year.
lectures: 15 hours for one credit
practice: 30 hours for one credit
creative practice: 40 hours for one credit
In order to obtain the residential qualification as 'foreigner student' more than 300 hours attendance at one particular institution is required.
We advise applicants to consult about the compatibility of classes with the office in advance.
The course marked * on the list on the back is not available.
3. The number of students to be accepted is limited in each subject.
4. Obtaining credits
  Students who attend classes regularly, pass all examination, and submit all required work will receive credits.
5. Course term
(1) Students can attend classes within one academic year.
(2) Those who wish to continue their studies can reapply for only one additional consecutive year program with the permission by the committee.
6. Application Procedures
(1) Application period
The first semester or the first and second semesters : December 11 – 17, 2007
The second semester : June 5 – 13, 2008
(Only for the classes open at the second semester)
No acceptance of application on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
(2) Documents for submission
 1) Application Form in Japanese (personally completed by the applicant in accordance to the proper format)
 2) Certificate of graduation (including certificate of enrollment, in the case the applicant is currently a student) and his or her most recent academic record
(These documents must be original. In case they are not in Japanese, attach a Japanese translation)
 3) Examples of works or monographs in Japanese
 4) Certificate of the completion of alien registration (Certificate of original registered matters)
 5) Copy of passport with valid status of residence (Those who reenter Japan must submit proof of certification once obtained.)
 6) Reply envelope (standard size envelope with address and name and with 80-yen stamp attached)
 7) Certificate of Results and Scores of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (It must be original.)
  * We do not accept defective documents and will not return submitted documents.
(3) Sending your Application
  The documents must be brought or sent by registered mail to the General Affairs Division by the deadline. (Mail must be received before the deadline.)

7. Screening
(1) The submitted documents and interviews are the primary criteria. We will inform the applicants who pass the documents screening of the interview date.
(2) We notify the applicants of the result of the screening at the beginning of February.
(We inform of it the applicants for courses beginning in the second semester at the end of July.)
(3) Students admitted must complete the entrance procedure by the 23ed of February (by the 17th of August for those applying for the second semester)
No acceptance of application on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
8. Entrance fee and Lecture fee
  Those who are admitted to the program must pay the following expenses by the deadline.

* In case of revision, the new fee is applied for all students registered.
9. Notes
(1) For screening we may request the applicant to submit additional documents.
(2) Those who do not finish the application procedure within this period will be
considered to have abandoned their application.
(3) They are also asked to submit letters from guarantors living in Japan.
MASTER COURSE

Those who wish to take one or several subjects available for postgraduates of the Master Course may be permitted in accordance with this guide, providing there is no obstacle to their acceptance.

1. Applicant's qualifications must satisfy all conditions.

(1) Applicants should be recognized as having academic ability superior or equal to a university graduate.
(2) Daily conversation ability in Japanese is required. (Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or above)
(3) Applicants must presently reside in Japan as ‘registered foreigner’ with the intention of continuing their education or study and have proper visa qualification as ‘foreign student’ according to the immigration control and refugee recognition act of Japan, or have the requirements needed to apply for such status.

DOCTORAL COURSE

Those who wish to take one or several subjects available for postgraduates of the Doctoral Course would be permitted in accordance with this guide, providing there is no obstacle to their acceptance.

(1) Applicants should be recognized as having completed a master degree or having acquired a superior or equal academic ability.
(2) Daily conversation ability in Japanese is required. (Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or above)
(3) Applicants must presently reside in Japan as ‘registered foreigner’ with the intention of continuing their education or study and have proper visa qualification as ‘foreign student’ according to the immigration control and refugee recognition act of Japan, or have the requirements needed to apply for such status.

 (1) Practice of Regional Art, Craft and Design (one credit for the first semester)
Specialized Area Tutorial (through the two semesters)
We advise applicants to consult about the compatibility of classes with the office in advance.
(2) Facilities available
Except library and facilities specifically allocated by supervisors no practicing studios are allowed.
3. The number of students to be accepted is limited in each subject.
4. Obtaining credits
  Students who attend classes regularly, pass all examinations, and submit all required work will receive credits. However, the class of Specialized Area Tutorial is not credited.
5. Course term
(1) Students can attend classes within one academic year.
